The Boundary Study Committee met on Thursday evening and is continuing its work work on updating the boundaries and also looking at a K-5/6-8 grade configuration for the district. Garden City Public Schools received a donation of Automated External Defibrillator (AED) units from the Finney County Local Health Equity Action Team (LHEAT). The units will be housed at Victor Ornales Elementary School and Bernadine Sitts Intermediate Center. The LHEAT is funded through the Communities Organizing to Promote Equity Grant through the University of Kansas Medical Center.

Madison Thompson, Parents As Teachers Coordinator, recently attended the Parents as Teachers Early Learning Advocacy Day at the State Capital. She visited with local and other state representatives on important Early Learning program legislation. They also received a proclamation from the Senate proclaiming the event as Early Learning Advocacy.
