The GCHS drama department won 2 Jester Awards awards for their performance of "The Addams Family". The awards were for Costume Design and Technical Achievement for Set Design. Izzy Frey also won a $1000 scholarship. https://www.gckschools.com/article/1584697


The Boundary Study Committee held it last meeting on Thursday evening. The group reviewed and discussed public input and survey results. They looked at providing the board a recommendation. https://www.gckschools.com/o/gcps/page/boundary-study

The Edith Scheuerman Elementary School after school program held an exhibition basketball game in front of the student body today to show off the skills that the students have learned. The Red team won the competition over the Yellow team with a 19-17 score.

USD 457 Preschool Programs registration will open Thursday, May 2nd for the 2024-25 school year. Georgia Matthews Elementary School will hold a fundraiser in partnership with Freddy's tonight, April 30. Fifteen percent of all sales from 5:00-9:00 p.m. will go back to the school. Thank you for your support!


Edith Scheuerman Elementary School recently received its banner for the Civic Advocacy Network Award. The award recognizes schools that are providing exemplary opportunities for civic engagement both in and out of the classroom within their school district.

Garden City High School music students participated in the Kansas State High School Activities Association State 6A Solo and Ensemble Contest on Saturday, April 27, that was held in Topeka, Kansas.
