
Garden City High School football players were at Garfield Early Childhood Center this morning greeting students and giving high fives.

A free developmental screening clinic for 3-5 year old Garden City residents will be held on Friday, October 4. It will be at Garfield Early Childhood Center. Appointments can be made by calling 620-805-7500.



Garden City High School will present “Eclipsed” on October 4th & 5th at 7:00 p.m. and October 6th at 2:30 p.m. in the GCHS Auditorium. This play does have some adult themes and may not be suitable for young children.
Ticket are $10 adults and $5 students. Tickets may be purchased at https://www.onthestage.tickets/garden-city-high-school2/individual-tickets, or at the door at the performances. However, tickets at the door are $7 students and $12 adults.

Jennie Barker Elementary School held its annual NFL Fuel Up To Play 60 activities on Friday. Students participated in a number of various football drills and other activities. GCHS football players were at the school to help with the activities.

There will be no school for Garden City Public Schools on Monday, September 30th for teacher inservices. Classes will resume on Tuesday, October 1, 2024.

The My Ride App is a USD 457 Transportation Mobile App that is designed to help parents and students stay informed about their school transportation schedules. It is a must-have app for any parent or student who hopes to never miss the bus again.



There will be a come and go reception on Wednesday, Sept. 25 from 3:30-5:30 in the Boardroom at the Educational Support Center for Roxie Schafer. She is retiring after 35 years of dedicated service with USD-457.


Horace Good Middle School volleyball team will hold a fundraiser in partnership with Freddy's tonight, September 25. Fifteen percent of all sales from 5:00-9:00 p.m. will go back to the team. Thank you for your support!

Garden City Mayor, Manny Ortiz, was visiting with 2nd grade students at Abe Hubert Hubert Elementary School today. He was talking about local government with the class. The students have been learning about government.

The Garden City Public Schools Board of Education held a special meeting on Thursday, September 19, 2024. The purpose of the meeting was to select a firm for the search process for the next superintendent of the school district. The board selected Ray and Associates for the search process.
