Students from elementary through middle school have advanced to the Finney County Spelling Bee that will be held Saturday, February 8th at 9:00 a.m. in Clifford Hope Auditorium on the Horace Good Middle School campus. https://www.gckschools.com/article/2004936


The Garden City Public Schools Foundation and Finney County United Way teamed up to provide support for the entry fee for USD 457 students to compete in the Finney County Spelling Bee. The entry fee for the Spelling Bee helps defray costs for winning students to compete at the state level and provides districts and schools access to Scripps materials on the website. The state Spelling Bee will be held on the Kansas Wesleyan University campus in Salina, Kansas on Saturday, March 22, 2025.

The Garden City High School Drama Department will present “The Unsinkable Molly Brown” on February 7th and 8th at 7:00 p.m. There will be a matinee on February 9th at 2:30 p.m. in the auditorium.
