Garden City Public Schools will hold a meet-and-greet reception on Thursday, April 3 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. in the Educational Support Center Board Room. District staff, parents, and community patrons can visit with Josh Guymon who was appointed as 2025-26 Interim Superintendent.
The University of Kansas Wind Ensemble performed for Garden City High School band students as part of their School of Music Across Kansas tour on April 1st. Other locations along the tour include: Junction City, Clay Center, Hays, and Dodge City. This performance is the first time the KU Wind Ensemble has toured Western Kansas in more than 30 years. Under the direction of Dr. Matt Smith, the KU Wind Ensemble performed a program of diverse music lasting approximately one hour. GCHS band students had the opportunity to talk to members of the band after their performance.
