Garden City High School orchestra students recently had their pieces judged for the Southwest/Northwest District Honor Orchestra. There were 33 completed auditions and 20 students selected. There will be concert on Saturday, December 7 on the Fort Hays State University campus.

The Edith Scheuerman Elementary School Tigerrific Sign Choir will present a Veteran’s Day program at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, November 8th in the school gym. They are inviting veterans to the program.

The GCHS Family, Career and Community Leaders of America will hold a fundraiser in partnership with Freddy's tonight, October 30. Fifteen percent of all sales from 5:00-9:00 p.m. will go back to the school. Thank you for your support!

Garden City High School football players were at Edith Scheuerman Elementary School this morning greeting students and giving high fives.




We would like to thank Hutton Construction for its donation of a table saw to the Industrial Arts class at Horace Good Middle School.

Asthma screening of 5th graders is taking place today at Abe Hubert Elementary School, Jennie Barker Elementary School, and Plymell Elementary School. We would like to thank the Garden City Community College nursing students for helping with this event.

A free developmental screening clinic for 3-5 year old Garden City residents will be held on Friday, November 1. It will be at Garfield Early Childhood Center. Appointments can be made by calling 620-805-7500.


Horace Good Middle School Robotics Club will hold a fundraiser in partnership with Applebee's today, October 28. Twenty-five percent of all your order will go to support the team. Thank you for your support!

Horace Good Middle School will present a band concert at 6:00 p.m. in the school competition gymnasium on Monday. The free concert is open to the public.

The Garden City High School JROTC Raider teams got to meet with The Sergeant Major of The Army during the ongoing JROTC National Raider Championships at Fort Knox, Kentucky.

The Garden City High School counselors are hosting "Snacks and Apps" on Thursday, October 24th, from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. in the GCHS Library. It is a workshop to assist seniors in applying for scholarships to support their continuing education after high school. Snacks will be provided during the event.

Jennie Barker Elementary School hosted a Heroes’ Breakfast for first responders Tuesday morning. The event provided an opportunity for the first responders to visit with the school’s students before the start of school.
