USD 457 Preschool Programs registration will open Thursday, May 2nd for the 2024-25 school year. Edith Scheuerman Elementary School recently received its banner for the Civic Advocacy Network Award. The award recognizes schools that are providing exemplary opportunities for civic engagement both in and out of the classroom within their school district.

Georgia Matthews Elementary School will hold a fundraiser in partnership with Freddy's tonight, April 30. Fifteen percent of all sales from 5:00-9:00 p.m. will go back to the school. Thank you for your support!

Garden City High School music students participated in the Kansas State High School Activities Association State 6A Solo and Ensemble Contest on Saturday, April 27, that was held in Topeka, Kansas. Edith Scheuerman Elementary School will host a 20-year celebration of the Sign Choir at the school on Monday, April 29. The event will be held from 5:30 – 6:30 p.m. at the school. There will be a performance by the current sign choir during the event.


The Kenneth Henderson Middle School soccer games on Thursday at Liberal have been cancelled.


Enrollment for the summer session of the Driver Education course at GCHS will be Monday, April 29 at 4:00pm. There are a limited number of students that will be accepted in the class. https://www.gckschools.com/article/1566804


There will be no school for Garden City Public Schools on Thursday, April 25 for teacher inservices and Friday, April 26 for a new teacher inservice. Classes will resume on Monday, April 29, 2024.

Plymell Elementary School partnered with Leave a Legacy foundation to hold the Plymell Legacy Mile on Wednesday at Lee Richardson Zoo. The Student Lighthouse Team worked to raise funds for the Greatest Needs Fund to help pay for cancer patient medical bills. The team had a goal of $500 and they announced at the event that they raised $900.
