Dear Parents,
Garden City High School received a phone call at the end of the school day from an unknown individual indicating there was a bomb inside the school. All students and staff were immediately evacuated, and law enforcement and first responders responded accordingly and searched the school. After a thorough investigation by law enforcement, no threats to the students, staff, or school were discovered, and no explosives were located.
The school and the district take every threat seriously. We continue to work with the Garden City Police Department to ensure the safety of our students and staff at school. We feel that school is safe to attend and we will continue on our regular school schedule.
I encourage you to have your child report any information about any school safety related incidents to administrators/staff at school and/or the Garden City Police Department. As always, the primary goal of Garden City Public Schools is to provide a safe and positive learning environment for both students and staff.
If you see something or hear something, say something.
Sincerely,
Josh Guymon
Superintendent of Schools
