As we wrap up School Counselor Week we want to thank our Middle School Counselors for helping students explore their abilities, strengths, interests, and talents as they relate to career awareness and development into responsible citizens.


The Garden City Public Schools Foundation and Finney County United Way teamed up to provide support for the entry fee for USD 457 students to compete in the Finney County Spelling Bee. The entry fee for the Spelling Bee helps defray costs for winning students to compete at the state level and provides districts and schools access to Scripps materials on the website. The state Spelling Bee will be held on the Kansas Wesleyan University campus in Salina, Kansas on Saturday, March 22, 2025.

The Garden City High School Drama Department will present “The Unsinkable Molly Brown” on February 7th and 8th at 7:00 p.m. There will be a matinee on February 9th at 2:30 p.m. in the auditorium. Advanced ticket prices are $10 for adults, $8 for senior citizens and $5 for students. There will be no school for Garden City Public Schools on Friday, January 31, 2025. Friday is an inservice day for new teachers. The district offices and facilities will be open with regular business hours on Friday. School will resume on Monday, February 3, 2025.
