The Garden City High School choir sang the National Anthem and the GCHS JROTC Color Guard presented the colors during the Community Day of Remembrance event at the Refinery on Friday. The GCHS JROTC Raider Team also participated in the Memorial Ruck Run during the event.

Classes, offices, and facilities will be closed on Monday, September 7, in observance of Labor Day. The school district will resume regular business hours and classes will be back in session on Tuesday, September 8, 2026.
Earlier this year, Garden City was awarded a planning and programming grant from the Kansas Department of Transportation’s Kansas Department of Transportation's Safe Routes to School (SRTS) program. Over the next few months, the City of Garden City and Garden City Public Schools will be working with the Kansas Department of Transportation to create our new SRTS plan. The plan will include policy, program, and project recommendations to make walking, biking, and rolling to school safer and more enjoyable.
