Community

Garden City offers a cosmopolitan atmosphere in a small city of 30,000 residents. This diverse community is the hub of shopping, entertainment, dining, and healthcare for the Southwestern Kansas region. Offering a wide variety of dining options, cultural celebrations, fine arts performances, concerts, and sporting events throughout the year, Garden City truly has something for everyone. Each year the Beef Empire Days Rodeo, Pro-Am Golf Tournament, Tumbleweed Music Festival, and Lee Richardson Zoo bring thousands of visitors to enjoy our city. Children have their own special events, such as Boo at the Zoo, Children's Theater, and Kid's College.

Our residents pursuing post-secondary education have easy access to post-secondary and graduate studies. Garden City Community College, Fort Hays State University, Kansas State University, Friends University, and Newman University provide various programs of study. Through these, as well as on-line providers, our teachers are able to pursue additional endorsements and master's degrees locally.
