Garden City High School counselors will conduct course selection sessions for GCHS students during school for the 2023-24 school year. Students will receive their credit checks, enrollment forms, and review the guide to determine the courses they prefer to take starting in August.
Counselors will be working with the sophomore class on Monday, February 13. They will work with the junior class on Monday, February 20, and they will work with the current freshman class on February 27.
The GCHS counselors will host informative sessions for parents so as to present the general information regarding the course selection process and other areas related to enrollment. Both parents and students are invited and encouraged to attend but it is not required. There will be time provided for a question and answer period and counselors will be available to meet individually with students and/or parents.
The parent informative sessions will be held in the Arts and Communications Student Learning Center at the high school. The sessions will be held Wednesday, February 15, from 5:30 – 6:30 p.m. for sophomore students and parents and on Wednesday, March 1, for freshman students and parents.
All current juniors (and parents/guardians) will schedule individual conference times with their respective academy counselor to review the credit check and select courses. Academy counselors will explain how to schedule these conferences via Calendly.
