Safe Routes To Schools

Let's make it safer to walk, bike, and roll to school in Garden City! Take the survey and pin the interactive webmap to share your experiences and concerns.

Earlier this year, Garden City was awarded a planning and programming grant from the Kansas Department of Transportation’s (KDOT) Safe Routes to School (SRTS) Program. The plan will include policy, program, and project recommendations to make walking, biking, and rolling to school safer and more enjoyable. We welcomed the KDOT team to Garden City in September, but we still need your help!

Here are a few ways you can participate between now and Friday, November 6, to help make our plan the best it can be:

Complete the caregiver survey to let us know how your family currently travels to school, why you travel to school the way you do, and what would encourage you to walk or bike to school more: KDOT SRTS Caregiver Survey Fall 2026- Garden City

Head to our interactive webmap to let us know where in town you think there are issues, and what you would need to walk or bike to school more: Garden City SRTS
