There will be Debate and Forensics information meetings at the middle schools during the week. The meetings are for students interested in participating in the program at the schools.
There will be an information meeting at Kenneth Henderson Middle School on Monday, September 14, in the library at the end of school. There will be an information meeting at Horace Good Middle School on Tuesday, September 15, in Ms. Bates’ classroom at the end of school.
All students are welcome to attend the meeting. Students do not need to have experience to be on the team. Students don’t need to be a good speaker; rather, the point of being on the team is to become a better speaker.
Forensics and Debate is a fun academic competition that focuses on public speaking, debating, research, writing, and acting skills. Forensics provides a chance to perform, tell stories, and sharpen public speaking skills. Debate is all about researching, thinking fast, and learning how to make a case on a topic.
