Garfield Screening Clinic

Garfield Early Childhood Center will hold a free developmental screening clinic as part of getting students ready for the start of the year at the school. The clinic is for children who are three and four years of age who are Garden City residents.

The clinic will be held on Thursday, August 13th, and Friday, August 14, 2026.  It will take place at the Garfield Early Childhood Center, 121 W. Walnut, Garden City, Kansas. 

The screening will take approximately an hour and a half.  Trained professionals will check each child's hearing, vision, large and small muscle development, communication, and thinking skills. 

Parents looking to get their child screened for the start of the school year can call Garfield Early Childhood Center at 620-805-7500. 

If parents are unable to keep the appointment on the day of the screening, please contact Garfield Early Childhood Center to let them know.

The first day of school for Garfield Early Childhood Center will be Monday, August 17, 2026.  There are two sessions held during the day at the school. The morning session will start at 8:45 a.m. and ends at 11:50 a.m.  The afternoon session will start at 1:15 p.m. and ends at 4:20 p.m.
