The last week for the USD 457 Books-on-the-Bus (B.O.B.) program will start on Monday, July 20, 2026. The last day that the bookmobile will visit the community will be Friday, July 24, 2026.
The sites that the Bookmobile will visit include:
· 10:30 - 11:00 a.m. on Mondays at Mary Street Apartments, 1803 E. Mary Street.
· 10:30 - 11:00 a.m. on Tuesdays at Harold Long Park, 1001 E Spruce Street.
· 10:30 - 11:00 a.m. on Wednesdays at Dean Wiley Park, 2406 Campus Dr.
· 10:30 – 11:00 a.m. on Thursday at Victor Ornelas Elementary School, 3401 E. Spruce Street.
· 11:15 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. on Mondays at Gertrude Walker Elementary School, 805 W. Fair Street.
· 11:15 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays at Ayala Park, 216 N. Taylor Ave.
· 11:15 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. on Wednesdays at Bob Halloran Park, 328 Susan Street.
· 12:30 - 1:15 p.m. Monday - Thursday at Garden Rapids at the Big Pool, 312 E Finnup Dr.
· 11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. on Fridays at the Finney County Library, 605 Walnut Street.
The first day of school for the 2026-27 school year will be Wednesday, August 12th, with a half-day orientation for students in grades kindergarten through fifth grade, seventh grade, ninth and tenth grades, and all students new to Garden City Public Schools. The first full day of school for Garden City Public Schools is Thursday, August 13, 2026, when all classes will be in session for the start of the 2026-27 school year.
