GCHS Choir Concert Pre-KMEA

The Garden City High School will present a Pre-Kansas Music Educators Association Concert on Monday, February 23rd, at 6:30 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church, 1106 N. Main Street. The concert is getting the group ready for the upcoming KMEA conference that the group will perform at the end of this month. The free concert is open to the public.

The Garden City High School Music Department received word in August that the Garden City High School Chorale was selected to perform during the 2026 Kansas Music Educators Association in-service weekend. The choir has been preparing a program of music to perform that will take place at the Century II Convention Center in Wichita, Kansas.

The Garden City High School Chorale is the only choir to be chosen from southwest Kansas to perform at the association’s in-service.

Students for the Chorale were selected by the top auditioned Mixed Choir, which is comprised of sophomore-senior students.

The Kansas Music Educators Association supports music educators by fostering leadership, providing professional development, and promoting the advocacy of music learning in schools and communities.
