USD #457, along with the Russell Child Development Center, will hold a free developmental screening clinic for children aged birth to four years who are Garden City residents. The clinic will be held on Friday, January 9, 2026. It will take place at the Garfield Early Childhood Center, 121 W. Walnut, Garden City, Kansas.
Garden City Public Schools will conduct the screenings for children who are three to four years old. Russell Child Development Center will conduct the screenings for children from birth to two years old.
The screening will take approximately an hour and a half. Trained professionals will check each child's hearing, vision, large and small muscle development, communication, and thinking skills.
Appointments for children from birth to two years old can be made by calling Russell Child Development Center at 620-275-0291. Parents looking for a screening for children three to four years old can be made by calling the Garfield Early Childhood Center at 620-805-7500.
If parents are unable to keep the appointment the day of the screening, contact Garfield Early Childhood Center to let them know.
