Garden City High School had students audition for the Southwest Kansas District Honor Band. The students that qualified for the band will be performing at the 2025 SWKMEA Honor District Band on Saturday, December 6, 2025, in Dodge City.
The GCHS students that received spots in the band include: Piccolo: Aiden Valdivia-Hernandez. Flute: Angel Robledo-Solorzano, Hannah Ebert, Hailey Moreno, and Gisselle Nei. Clarinet: Ricky Bailey, Anabel Reyes, Kaylin Nonhof, Christopher Aguayo, Laura Nguyen, Haylee Morales, and Lillian Freouf. Alto Saxophone: Luis Martinez-Villalobos and Makenah Stucky. Tenor Saxophone Alternate: Eduardo Resendiz. Baritone Saxaphone: Froilan Barajas. Trumpet: Elijah Contreras. Trumpet Alternate: Dorian Combs. Horn Alternate: Ashley Alvarado. Trombone: Sophia Sobba, Logan Heskett, and Law Htoo. Euphonium: Luis Vasquez, and Nelson Alvarado.
The GCHS band director is Ryan Partin and Andrew Thiesen is the assistant band director.
