ESC Closed Tuesday Morning

The Educational Support Center at Garden City Public Schools will be closed Tuesday, August 12th for an all staff inservice during the morning. The inservice is getting staff ready for the start of the 2025-2026 school year.

The Educational Support Center will be open at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon.  There will be a teacher inservice held on Tuesday, August 12, 2025.

The first day of school for the 2025-26 school year will be Wednesday, August 13th, with a half-day orientation for students in grades kindergarten through fifth grade, seventh grade, ninth and tenth grades and all students new to Garden City Public Schools. Abe Hubert Elementary School, Jennie Barker Elementary School and Plymell Elementary School are also encouraging sixth graders to attend school on August 14th. This will help the students at those schools get prepared for the start of the school year.

The schools will release after the morning session as follows on Wednesday. Horace Good Middle School and Kenneth Henderson Middle School at 10:50 a.m., Garden City High School at 11:00 a.m., Garden City Achieve at 11:20 a.m., Bernadine Sitts Intermediate Center and Charles Stones Intermediate Center at 11:30 a.m., and the elementary schools at 11:50 a.m.

The first full day of school for Garden City Public Schools is Thursday, August 14, 2025.  All classes will be in session for the start of the 2025-26 school year.

The district is asking parents to update their contact information with the schools. The district needs this contact information so buildings can contact families on any updates as we progress through the school year.
