Garden City Public Schools has a number of new administrators in leadership positions in the district for the 2025-26 school year. The administrators started in their new positions on July 1, 2025.
Josh Guymon has been appointed to be the interim superintendent of Garden City Public Schools. He was the deputy superintendent. He started as the interim superintendent of the district on June 1, 2025.
Drew Thon has been appointed to be the interim deputy superintendent of human resources for the district.
Steve Nordby has been appointed to be the interim assistant superintendent of student services. He is transferring from Garden City High School where he was the head principal at the high school.
Dr. Virginia Duncan has been appointed as the director of secondary instruction and learning. She is transferring from Garden City High School where she was the associate principal in the Arts and Communications Academy.
Heather Stegman has been appointed as the director of elementary instruction and learning. She is moving from the curriculum/instruction director position.
Garden City Public Schools has also appointed a number of experienced staff members to fill key principal, associate principal, and administrative intern positions in the district for the 2025-26 school year.
Ryan Meng will be the head principal at Garden City High School. He is moving from being the lead associate principal of the Health and Trade Academy at the high school.
Logan Bevis will be the associate principal of the Health and Trades Academy at Garden City High School. He is moving from being a social studies teacher at the high school.
Amy Cosper will be the associate principal of the Arts and Communications Academy at Garden City High School. She is moving from being an administrative intern in the Freshman Academy at the high school.
Trista Bailey will be the administrative intern in the Freshman Academy at Garden City High School. She is moving from being an English teacher at the high school.
Julisa Flores will be the principal at Alta Brown Elementary School. She is transferring from being the administrative intern at Alta Brown Elementary School and Abe Hubert Elementary School.
Joyce Aranda will be the administrative intern at Alta Brown Elementary School and Abe Hubert Elementary School. She is coming from Wichita.
Justin Reich will be the principal at Jennie Barker Elementary School. He is transferring from being the administrative interim at Florence Wilson Elementary School and Victor Ornelas Elementary School.
Amy Griffin will be the administrative intern at Florence Wilson Elementary School and Victor Ornelas Elementary School. She is moving from being an instructional coach at Garden City High School.
Dianne Elliott will be the Program director of the Virtual Academy. She is moving from being a virtual teacher at the academy.
The first day of school for the 2025-26 school year will be Wednesday, August 13th with a half-day orientation for students in grades kindergarten through fifth grade, seventh grade, ninth and tenth grades and all students new to Garden City Public Schools. The first full day of school for the district will be Thursday, August 14, 2025. All classes will be in session for the start of the 2025-26 school year.
