Garden City Public Schools Board of Education met during a regularly scheduled meeting on Monday, June 2, 2025. The meeting was held at the Educational Support Center Board Room, 1205 Fleming Street.
The Board approved the following items during the meeting. They include minutes of the May 19, 2025, regular meeting. Accounts Payable with all major accounts containing adequate balances to meet current obligations. Personnel certified and classified actions. The following handbooks for the 2025-26 school year: Elementary Student Handbook, ESOL Handbook, Garden City High School Student Handbook, Garfield Early Childhood Center Student/Parent Handbook, Garden City Achieve Student Handbook, HGMS-KHMS Athletic and Activity Student Handbook, Intermediate Centers Student Handbook, Middle Schools Student Handbook, TEP Student Handbook, Transportation Student Handbook, Virtual Academy Adult Handbook, and Virtual Academy Student Handbook.
Under new business, the Board approved the Procurement Plan, Meal Charge Policy, and meal price changes for the 2025-26 school. Approved the 2026 Child Nutrition Program Agreement. The Board heard a report on the proposed 2025-26 Negotiated Agreement. The teachers are currently voting on the contract. The teacher vote ends on June 6, 2025, and the Negotiated Agreement will be placed on the June 26, 2025, agenda for action by the Board. There was a first read of the Classified Handbook and Administration Handbook.
The Board held two executive sessions after the completion of all other business. The first executive session was for personnel matters for non-elected personnel. The second executive session was for personnel matters for non-elected personnel. No action was taken after the executive sessions.
The next meeting of the Board of Education will be held on Thursday, June 26, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. in the Board Room at the Educational Support Center, 1205 Fleming Street.
