Registration for the USD 457 Preschool Programs will open Thursday, May 2nd for the 2024-25 school year. The online registration for new and returning students will take place at Garfield Early Childhood Center, 121 W. Walnut Street. Registration will be held that day from 8:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. Parents will need to use a laptop or desktop computer for the registration process.
Parents will also need to fill out a paper application during registration to see which program their child will be placed in for the school year. These paper applications are located at the school and can be filled out at the school anytime from May 2nd - 24th.
There will be no school at Garfield Early Childhood Center on Thursday, May 2, due to registration. School will be back in session on Friday, May 3, 2024.
Children who will be 3 and 4 years old by August 31, 2024, can register for enrollment. Returning students for the next school year will enroll online. Parents will need their Family Access username/password for the enrollment process. If they do not have one yet, they will need to contact the school. Parents will need to click on the “Parents” link at the top of the district’s website and then click on the “Skyward Family Access” link in the drop down menu.
There are items that are necessary for enrollment: a birth certificate, immunization record, parent photo ID and proof of address. The fee for the year is $21.00, payable at Garfield Early Childhood Center. Parents wanting more information on enrollment can contact the school at 620-805-7500.
Garfield Early Childhood Center houses all early childhood programs. The school offers half-day educational sessions for children Monday through Friday.
