GCHS Art Students Receive Awards at Competitions

Garden City High School art students have competed in a number of spring shows.

They received a number of awards for their pieces that they submitted at the competitions.

Students created their artwork using a variety of mediums and disciplines, including oil, acrylic, watercolor painting, ceramics, fiber art, digital graphic designs, mixed media, drawings in charcoal, pencil, pastel, scratch board, and colored pencil.  

The award winners and their awards received include:

Cesar Morales, sophomore, received Gold Key (1 award), Silver Key (1 award), Honorable Mention (3 awards). He also received a Sterling College Art & Design Award/Scholarship during the Scholastic Arts & Writing competition.  He took 2nd Place High School Division & Purchase Award at the 22nd Annual Christian Art Show.

 Stephanie Juarez, junior, received a Silver Key.  She also received a Sterling College Art & Design Award/Scholarship during the Scholastic Arts & Writing competition.  She took 1st Place in the High School Division and 3rd Place in the High School Division at the 22nd Annual Christian Art Show.

 Mia Vera, sophomore, had an Honorable Mention and she received a Sterling College Art & Design Award/Scholarship during the Scholastic Arts & Writing competition. She had an Honorable mention at the 22nd Annual Christian Art Show. 

 Marlene Viallarreal Hurtado, senior, had an Honorable Mention and she received a Sterling College Art & Design Award/Scholarship during the Scholastic Arts & Writing competition.

Jordan Humphreys, junior, had an Honorable Mention during the Scholastic Arts & Writing competition.
