Garden City Public Schools

The Board of Education approved the 2024-2025 school calendar at the March 4 meeting.  A morning session of school will be held for elementary, fifth, seventh, ninth and tenth grades and students new to the district on Wednesday, August 14, 2024.  The first day of school for all students is Thursday, August 15, 2024. Some key dates on the calendar include:

• August 6^th – 8^th – Orientation for new teachers
• August 9^th - 12^th – Inservice for all teachers
• August 13^th – Workday for all teachers
• August 14^th – Morning class only for elementary, fifth, seventh, ninth and tenth grades and students new to the district, teacher workday in the afternoon
• August 15^th – First full day of school for all students
• September 2^nd – Labor Day observed no school
• September 30^th – Teacher inservice
• October 18^th – Teacher inservice in the morning and teacher workday in the afternoon
• October 24^th and 25^th – Parent Teacher Conferences
• November 25^th – 29^th  – Fall vacation
• December 23^rd – January 3^rd – Winter vacation: school is not in session
• January 6^th – Teacher workday
• January 7^th – Teacher inservice
• January 8^th – School resumes
• January 31^st – New teacher inservice
• February 21^st – Teacher inservice in the morning and teacher workday in the afternoon
• February 27^th and 28^th – Parent Teacher Conferences
• March 17^th – 21^st – Spring Break
• March 28^th – Teacher inservice
• April 4^th – New teacher inservice
• April 18^th – Spring Vacation
• April 21^st – Teacher inservice
• May 17^th – Graduation weekend
• May 22^nd – Last day of school
• May 23^rd – Teacher workday in the morning
