The Garden City Public Schools Foundation will participate in the MatchDay event through the Western Kansas Community Foundation (WKCF) on Tuesday, November 28, 2023. The WKCF will proportionately match donations made to the Garden City Public Schools Foundation on that day. The 2023 match pool is $100,000 and will be divided among participating organizations in proportion to the total amount raised.
The Western Kansas Community Foundation will match donations between $20 and $2,000 through November 28th. All donations are tax-deductible and will be accepted in three ways:
• Online: WKCF is encouraging electronic donations at matchday.wkcf.org to help streamline the event and gift processing.
• In-person: From 7:00 am to 7:00 pm on Tuesday, November 28, 2023 ("Giving Tuesday"), at the Gordmans building, 409 N. Main Street, Garden City, Kansas.
• Mail-in: Mail to WKCF at 402 N. Main, Garden City, KS 67846.
To be eligible for a match, checks must be made out to the WKCF with a giving form designating the benefiting organizations, complete contact information, and anonymity preferences. Checks must be dated and postmarked between November 14th and November 28th in order to qualify for the match.
The Garden City Public Schools Foundation functions in alliance with the Western Kansas Community Foundation. The Foundation offers the opportunity to enhance the learning environment, increase the effectiveness of instruction, and to help strengthen and broaden ties between the schools and community.
