Board of Education Meeting Recap November 6

Garden City Public Schools Board of Education met during a regularly scheduled meeting on Monday, November 6, 2023. The meeting was held at the Educational Support Center Board Room, 1205 Fleming Street.

The Kenneth Henderson Middle School Student Council (STUCO) led the Pledge of Allegiance to start the meeting.

The events included Boo at the Zoo, STUCO Leadership Conference in Dodge City, Veteran’s Day Assembly, Back to School Dance, Fall Pep Assembly, and spirit week.

Heather Stegman, Director of Instruction, provided a Fall Learning Report on Kansas Assessment Program (KAP) Data. Additionally, KAP meets federal and state accountability requirements.

The Board approved a credit change at the Therapeutic Education Program (TEP) that will allow the TEP Personal & Social Development class to count as a .50 English Language Arts Elective/Oral Communication credit each semester.
