Six teachers from Garden City Public Schools have been named finalists for this year’s Garden City Area Chamber of Commerce Crystal Apple Teacher Recognition Awards. The 2023 finalists are: Deanna Clark, Garden City Achieve; Mark Shera Cruz, Garden City High School; Glenda Gibson, Garden City Achieve; Scott Glass, Garden City High School; Amber Potts, Horace Good Middle School; and Caitlin Sotelo, Garden City Achieve.
This program is made up of representatives from the business community in Finney County. The Crystal Apple program strives to honor outstanding teachers in Finney County for their exceptional efforts in education.
The top three finalists will be named as the 2023 Crystal Apple Teachers of Finney County at the awards banquet on Thursday, November 16, 2023, at the Clarion Inn, 1911 East Kansas Avenue. The three finalists will receive an engraved crystal apple, $1,000 cash award and an iPad tablet. The three semi-finalists will be presented with a cash award of $250.
Tickets for the banquet will go on sale at the Chamber of Commerce, 1509 E. Fulton Terrace, on October 1, 2023.
