Garden City High School will hold a number of checkout sessions to issue iPads to students returning for the coming school year. The checkout will be held outside of the GCHS iPad Support Room, 2720 Buffalo Way Blvd. Freshmen and new students will be able to pick up their iPads during the first week of school.
Students must be enrolled in the current school year. All students are encouraged to pay all of their fees. If there was damage to the iPad from the previous year, the student will have to pay a deductible before the iPad is reissued. The checkout process may take up to ten minutes. This year’s sophomores, juniors, and seniors may come during the following times: August 7th – 9th from 8:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. each day.
All Garden City High School students have the opportunity during these days to get their student ID picture taken for the 2023-24 school year.
Students that do not pick up the iPad during one of the scheduled times, will have it issued to them before or after school in the iPad Support Room.
The first day of school for the 2023-24 school year will be Tuesday, August 15 with a half-day orientation for students in grades kindergarten through fifth, seventh, ninth and tenth, and all students new to Garden City Public Schools. The first full day of school for the district will be Wednesday, August 16, 2023. All classes for elementary through high school will be in session for the start of the 2023-24 school year.
The first day of school for Garfield Early Childhood Center is Monday, August 21, 2023. The morning session will start at 8:30 a.m. and the afternoon session will begin at 12:15 p.m.
