The next meeting of the Garden City Public Schools Board of Education will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, June 5, 2023. The meeting will be held at the Educational Support Center Board Room, 1205 Fleming Street.
The board will recognize the Garden City High School forensics students that are state qualifiers and spring national qualifiers.
Josh Guymon, Special Education Director, will provide an update on SPED changes that will be taking place for 2023-24 school year.
Steve Nordby, Principal at Garden City High School, Lucas Sullivan, Principal at Garden City Achieve, and Kathleen Moorman, Principal at Virtual Academy, will discuss changes to the graduation requirements for the Class of 2028.
Heather Stegman, Curriculum and Instruction Coordinator, and Michelle Baier, District Instructional Coach, will provide an update on the data from the Spring portion of the school year.
Under the New Business part of the meeting, there be will be a proposal for updated policies from the Discipline Policy Committee; a proposal on girls wrestling; and discussion on the school property at Friend.
There will be an executive session for matters relating to employer-employee negotiations whether or not in consultation with the representative or representatives of the body or agency.
