GCHS To Present “Kodachrome”

Garden City High School drama department will present a new drama Kodachrome on September 24th and 25th at 7:00 p.m.   There will be a matinee on September 26th at 2:30 p.m. The performances will be held in the auditorium on the Garden City High School campus, 2720 Buffalo Way Blvd.  This play is appropriate for all ages. Masks are encouraged for audience members, and please use social distancing in the theatre between parties.

Ticket prices are $10 for adults and $5 for students.  Tickets may be purchased at https://gchsdrama.booktix.com/index.php, cast and crew members, or at the box office the night of the performance. Tickets are now on sale.

Synopsis: Set in a small fictional New England town, where everyone knows each other. Our tour guide is Suzanne, the town photographer, who lets us peek into her neighbor’s lives to catch glimpses of romance in all its stages of development. A play about love, nostalgia, the seasons, and how we learn to say goodbye.

Cast: We are lead through this play by a character known as The Photographer (Suzanne) played by Katrina Almaguer (sophomore). She introduces us to the town and its inhabitants. The Gravedigger (Earl) is played by Byrant Detvongsa (senior). The Hardware Store Owner (Charlie) played by Razel Quintero (junior). The Librarian (Renee) played by Georgia Fahrmeier (sophomore). A Mystery Novelist (Georgette) played by Felicity Miller (junior), her husband the History Professor (Harold) played by Jose Fernandez-Esquviel (senior), and their daughter, Marjory, played by Yuliana Godinez (freshman). A Young Man (Robert) played by Santiago Rueda (sophomore), and a Young Woman (Florence) played by Hayley Loya (sophomore). The Perfume Maker (Martin) played by Nic Vigil (freshman). The Florist (Heather) played by Kyra Linenberger (junior). The Waitress (Jen) played by Selena Camacho (junior). The Police Officer (Pete) played by Carlos DeLeon (senior). Two EMTs played by Alexandra Terriquez (junior) and Shyla Cowles (senior), and the Young Woman’s Friend played by Damon Ontiveros (junior).

Ms. Alice Hilt is the Director with Ms. Robyn Hilt & Mr. Mark Van Savage serving as Assistant Directors. The set, lighting and sound were designed by Alice Hilt with the Technical Theater classes. Projections and photos used in the production were taken by the cast, directing staff, and crew. Projections were designed by Robyn Hilt. Costume designer is Jocelyn Adame (junior). Stage Manager is Rylan Anderson (junior). Artwork for poster and program was designed by Evelyn Alvarez (senior).
