The GCHS site is a skeleton for a large amount of information. It's opening page is
currently comprised of 51 links to pages for each department, school-related documents,
school-related information sources, and current announcements.
The GCHS site is designed to minimize the amount of time spent locating information. Hopefully,
the user can find information quickly and efficiently from the Main Page.
The goal is fast-loading pages and as few mouse clicks as possible.
The main part of the GCHS Home Page is comprised
of current school announcements and news. Each item is a link to more detailed information.
The banner on the right edge of the page is made up of links to departmental pages, school-related
documents, and school-related information sources.
Departmental pages are designed to be as simple as possible, containing only the names of the faculty
for the department and links to faculty pages. Each faculty member's name is a link to his or her
e-mail address so that a user can e-mail by simply clicking the mouse on the desired name.
Students and faculty are encouraged to develop their own web page(s) for the GCHS site. These
pages can be used to publish personal interest and academic information (such as lecture notes, assignments,
etc.) on the World Wide Web. Each student needs a faculty sponsor who will be responsible for web page
content and for delivering the web page to the
Site Manager
for publication. Student pages are housed under the GCHS main page. Faculty publish their own
web pages with links off their respective department pages (maintained by the
Site Manager).
