- All use of the Internet must be in support of education and research and be consistent
with the purposes and policies of USD 457.
- Use of the network to access obscene or pornographic material is prohibited.
- Use of the network to transmit material likely to be offensive or objectionable
to recipients is prohibited. If there are questions pertaining to material it must be approved in advance, in writing,
through the Technology Coordinator.
- Any use of the network to facilitate illegal activity is prohibited.
- Any use of the network for commercial or for-profit purposes is prohibited.
- Non-school related communication is prohibited.
- Any use of the network for product advertisement or political lobbying is prohibited.
- Network accounts are to be used only by the authorized owner of the account for
authorized purposes.
- Users shall not intentionally seek information on, obtain copies of or modify files,
other data, or passwords belonging to other users or misrepresent themselves of other users on the network.
- Users shall respect the copyright of all accessible information.
- Malicious use of the network to develop programs that harass other users or infiltrate
a computer or computing system and/or damage the software components of a computer or computing system is prohibited.
- No use of the network shall serve to disrupt the use of the network by others;
hardware or software shall not be destroyed, modified, or abused in any way.
- Hate mail, harassment, discriminatory remarks, and other anti-social behaviors
are prohibited.
- Subscriptions to listservers must be pre-approved by the district electronic mail
administrator.
- Game playing of any kind is prohibited.
- All files downloaded at own risk. Any use of downloaded applications on district
computers must be pre-approved by the Technology Coordinator. The district will assume no responsibility for downloaded
materials used on non-district computer systems.
- User accounts will not be assigned until required Internet instruction has been
completed.
- Any Internet publishing must be for educational purposes and consistent with the
practices and policies of USD 457. USD 457 reserves the right to edit the content of published materials.
