The mission of Garden City High School is to encourage the development of responsible, self-disciplined citizens, able to assume positions as workers and leaders in a rapidly changing world. We, the high school community, intend to accomplish this mission by
- Fostering a climate and culture that assures respect for the rights of others and tolerance for diversity;
- Enhancing positive self concepts for all students;
- Promoting equity of educational opportunity for all students;
- Providing an appropriate balance among academic, athletic, and social activities;
- Valuing learning as a lifelong endeavor;
- Assisting and motivating students to work productively within both independent and cooperative settings;
- Challenging and encouraging students to think creatively, to use flexible approaches to problem solving, and to make responsible decisions.
As students, faculty, administrators, staff, parents, and the community, we share in accountability for producing graduates confident of their ability to contribute to society in diverse and meaningful ways.
