7th SOCIAL STUDIES

This course will help you better understand the world you live in, by starting with the geography of our home region. Topics to be studied will include Kansas Studies. U.S. Geography and North American Geography. Basic geography skills such as map making will be taught all through the course Students taking this course will also learn essentials of the culture/history of Garden City and of Kansas. If time permits some of the Geography of the rest of the world will be studied, especially that concerns the ethnic background of the students.

The people, and principles upon which America was founded will be covered. You will learn about your rights and responsibilities as they relate to the American Government. system. Local and state government will also be covered.
